Can one purchase a pistol from IN and have it sent to a FFl Dealer in IL without registering it?

I wanted to purchase a pistol from a gun shop that I've heard about in IN that has the particular firearm I am looking for in a very low price but I live in IL. I know i can't legally buy the pistol because I live in IL but can I buy it from the shop in IN and have it sent to a FFL dealer in my town? Also, will the gun have to be registered to me when I buy it from the store because I didn't want it to be because I was purchasing it as a gift.
