How is this story so far?

Not bad, your grammar and language is excellent and you are able 2 keep the story flowing from one paragraph to the next. All in all it looks like it will be a good story :-) . The only thing is that you should work out where the story is going to end up, otherwise you will end up with conflicting parts, you might confuse yourself. Work out how its going to end and then mould the story around that
