Can you buy a firearm in NY if you've been charged but not convicted for a felony?

I got arrested a couple months ago and charged with a felony but I haven't been convicted yet. I was wondering if I can still pass a background test. I was also wondering what the standards are for a misdemeanor. I don't need any lectures about how bad I've been just a straight answer. Thanks
