Does this seem a little too rushed?

To answer your initial question: no, it does not seem rushed. In my opinion you have accomplished something I've seen many student writers struggle mightily with: conversational dialogue between two or more people. You provided the reader with the information in a format that was palatable and never dry or tedious to read. It was very descriptive but not overly done. Use this method appropriately throughout your writings. Kudos to you.
