Why all the hate for the Second Amendment?

This not only applies to liberals but non-Americans as well. I often scroll the forums on the Escapist (which is majority liberal) and they often spew hate for the Second Amendment. I own 4 guns and will add 2 more to my collection when I get back from Iraq. I love to shoot, I'm good at it and hunting is much like meditation to me. Even if firearms were banned, the gun-related deaths would not go down. I don't see why hunters and shooting enthusiasts such as myself should suffer because some thug shot thug 15 states away from me? How many hunting related injuries are there per year? Far less than many other hobbies.
