Why does my cat like burnt hair?

I was by a candle and accidently got my arm in the flame burning off some of my arm hair. It smellt really really bad but my cat came right up to me and kept smellnig and smelling my arm. She grimaced liek scrunched up her nose then started licking my arm till it was red and irritated. I tried it again a few days later and she did the same thing. Why? Is my cat a pyscho? Do I need to hide my matches?
